The ringgit closed unchanged against the US dollar yesterday, dealers said.They said the ringgit was little changed at 3.5300/5350 to the dollar compared with 3.5300/5330 at Wednesday's closing.
A dealer said the US dollar climbed after five per cent drop in the Shanghai stock market which encouraged investors to unwind positions in riskier assets built in the past few sessions.Against the Singapore dollar, the ringgit increased to 2.4417/4476 from 2.4475/4518 Wednesday and was higher against the yen at 3.7134/7191 from 3.7287/7339 previously.
The local currency was lower against the British pound at 5.8220/8320 from 5.7776/7839 Wednesday but increased against the euro to 4.9628/9709 from 4.9946/9995 previously.
