Malaysian shares seen largely flat

The benchmark FTSE Bursa KLCI is expected to be largely flat today, after the previous day’s gains and a modest rise on Wall Street, said a technical analyst with a local bank. He pegged resistance for the index at 1,080-1,095 points. The index gained 1.5 per cent to close at 1,079.63 points yesterday, tracking Wall Street’s rally on Monday spurred by optimism over US banks’ earnings. US stocks managed modest gains yesterday as better-than-expected corporate profits overshadowed concerns about weak consumer demand. -- Reuters
