Malaysian shares seen flat today

MALAYSIAN stocks are seen opening flat today with slight impact from US stocks that edged lower on Friday on financial concerns and lower energy prices.

“It is going to be pretty quiet. Nothing much is going to happen because people are going to take a breather,” said a local trader.

Malaysia last week announced a transition of power in its ruling coalition, but traders did not expect an immediate impact on the market as the electorate waits for promised reforms to take place.

“Politics is a good factor generally but it is too early to see what the real impact is,” said another local trader. - Reuters
