Bursa Malaysia cautiously optimistic on earnings

BURSA Malaysia Bhd, the nation’s stock exchange manager, said it is “cautiously optimistic” about its earnings outlook this year even as operating conditions “remain challenging.”

Bursa Malaysia expects to see “significantly” more listings in the country, Chief Executive Officer Yusli Yusoff said in an interview with Bloomberg television.

He added that Bursa Malaysia expects the number of initial public offerings in Malaysia to double this year from 14 in 2009. - Bloomberg
