Are We Really Serious About Our Dreams?

The Power of Dreams. Does this tagline sound familiar to you? It is the tagline that Honda Motor uses. I am pretty sure, you know the power of having dreams.

Dreams are an ideal picture in the mind, of a future that is yet to materialize, a destiny, if you will.

Now the question that really put me in a spot and I was cornered. Are we really serious about our dreams? This is the question I would like to put forth to you too because this little question really got me into a serious state of mind.

Earlier on, I was being non-committal and rather playful. I’m sharing this because I believe most of us are not that serious about our dreams, or feel a bit shy to tell people our true dreams.

The next question. If we are serious about our dream and really want it, there must be a dollar amount that we have thought of. What is that figure?

If we are honest about it, I think most of us know in our heart, approximately how much money we need to make our dreams a reality. If not, a few simple calculations would probably give us that figure.

The trouble is, most of us dont believe it can happen, and/or are not serious enough about their own dreams. That is why we are afraid to say it out. But I think we have to be able to say it out loud and not feel shy about our dreams. We might need someone to help ask those questions sincerely, in order to help us think and verbalize it.

Try this over the next few days. Look for an opportunity to ask our friend or partner what is their dreams. After they have finished, do we feel we are convinced they are serious about it? Tell them.

Then switch position and share our dreams with them. Ask them to tell us honestly, whether they are convinced us really believe in our dreams. At the same time, notice also if we have any emotions attached to the way we describe it? Are we excited about it. Does it resonate in our heart and being? If it does, we will know that is what we really want.

If on the other hand, we feel either neutral or dont feel any emotion at all, perhaps we might want to spend some time to find out what we really want. Be honest with ourselves.

We too, have to overcome our unbelief.
