Share prices close higher led by blue chips

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia rose 5.36 points to close at 1270.81 points on Tuesday, Dec 15.

Among the active stocks, DSC Solutions went down 5.5 sen to 40.5 sen, while LCL Corp and KNM Group gained two sen and 1.5 sen respectively to 25 sen and 74.5 sen.

For the heavyweights, Sime Darby increased three sen to RM8.98, Maybank earned 13 sen to RM6.90, CIMB rose 10 sen to RM13.10 and Maxis added two sen to RM5.40.

Turnover on the Main Market declined to 427.92 million shares worth RM768.26 million, compared with yesterday's 433.06 million shares valued at RM678.28 million.

Warrants slipped to 16.60 million shares worth RM2.55 million, from yesterday's turnover of 18.41 million shares valued at RM3.71 million.

However, volume on the ACE Market increased to 81.32 million units valued at RM30.09 million, from the 60.98 million units worth RM23.23 million recorded previously.

Consumer products accounted for 22.56 million shares traded on the Main Market, industrial products 90.12 million, CONSTRUCTION [] 23.67 million, trading and services 180.83 million, TECHNOLOGY [] 15.546 million, infrastructure 4.96 million, finance 41.15 million, hotels 1.92 million, PROPERTIES [] 36.451 million, PLANTATION []s 9.82 million, mining nil, REITs 853,600 and closed/fund 12,400. — Bernama
