Bursa resumes distribution of indices at midday

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia has been able to receive and distribute the FTSE Bursa Malaysia index series from FTSE since 12:09pm on Monday, Dec 7.

"However, the Exchange cautions that these are indicative values," the stock exchange said in a statement.

It added FTSE was still investigating the problem and it would notify the market of any update when available.

The stock exchange was unable to provide the real time indices update since 9am on Monday, though the share prices and other securities were not affected.

Similarly, the Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) said the Straits Times Index (STI) and all FTSE ST index series on the Singapore Exchange may not reflect fully the movement in their respective components.

The SGX said it had raised this matter with FTSE Group, the index calculator, which was investigating the matter
