KUALA LUMPUR: PPB GROUP BHD [] yesterday saw a single block of 22.2 million shares transacted off-market for a total of RM339.67 million.
Stock market data showed the block representing a 1.85% stake in PPB Group was transacted at 3.29pm at RM15.30 apiece.
The shares could have been either transacted by Kuok Brothers Sdn Bhd or the Employees Provident Fund.
Kuok Brothers is the single largest shareholder of PPB Group with a 50.17% stake comprising 594.76 million shares while the second largest shareholder is the EPF with 96.7 million shares or 8.16%. The third largest is Gaintique Sdn Bhd with 7.95 million shares or 0.67%. The off-market transaction had little impact on the market share price, which closed eight sen lower at RM15.38.
At RM15.38, PPB Group is trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of 14.79 times while heavyweight PLANTATION [] counter IOI Corp Bhd is trading at 30.46 times and KUALA LUMPUR KEPONG BHD [] at 21.96 times.
