EPF buys 9.17m DiGi shares

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund bought 9.17 million shares of DIGI.COM BHD [] on Aug 26 when the share price fell to its lowest in more than two months.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed the EPF acquired 9.02 million shares in the open market while another 150,000 shares were acquired by its portfolio manager.

The recent acquisitions raised the EPF's stake in the mobile phone operator to 120.01 million shares or 15.44%.

DiGi's share price closed at RM21.72 on Aug 26, the lowest since June 22 when it ended the day at RM21.70.
