Thai unit to return to black

CIMB Thai Bank, 94 per cent-owned by Malaysia’s CIMB, expects to return to the black this year for the first time in four years on higher net interest margins and falling provisioning expenses, its chief said today.

“This year should see some hundreds million baht of net profit after we recovered in the third quarter,” President Subhak Siwaraksa told reporters. -- Reuters
