Takaful Malaysia to get 'young and energetic'

SYARIKAT Takaful Malaysia Bhd, the country's first takaful operator, will invest RM15 million in a rebranding exercise to grow its market share to 50 per cent from the current 40 per cent.

The exercise will include a new modern, young and energetic logo, refurbished branches and outdoor advertisements.

The company, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary on November 10, said the enhancement is necessary to elevate Takaful Malaysia's value in years to come.

The new strategy and positioning that are being undertaken is to ideally reflect Takaful Malaysia as a syariah-compliant company that is modern, young and energetic.

The refurbishment of the new branches will be ready by end-November, it said in a statement yesterday.

The takaful operator said it will act to ensure visibility of its new brand through various media and ground activities.

The company also plans to introduce several investment-linked products soon.

As part of the rebranding exercise, Takaful Malaysia wants to also introduce its own "brand leaders", consisting of exemplary staff to lead and inspire colleagues in embracing the new brand.

"They will be equipped with the necessary training skills and kits to facilitate effective dissemination of the new brand's essence to all staff," it said.

A new integrated customer care and telephone help-line service has also been implemented to guide employees to better represent the company and enhance customer's experience when dealing with any of its frontline staff.
