KUALA LUMPUR: The 30-stock FBM KLCI slipped into the red at the midday break on Monday, Oct 12 in line with some regional markets, as investors consolidated their positions after last week's gains.
At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI fell 0.08 points to 1,233.74. Turnover was 314.44 million shares valued at RM369.43 million. There were 263 gainers, 269 losers and 233 stocks unchanged.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.1% to 21,483.80 while Taiwan's Taiex was 0.12% lower at 7,563.12. Shanghai's Composite Index rose 0.26% to 2,914.24. Singapore's Straits Times Index added 0.7% to 2,670.46 on a brighter economic outlook.
Light crude oil rose 53 US cents to US$72.30 while crude palm oil futures added RM44 to RM2,126 and gold added 68 US cents to US$1,049.93.
On Bursa Malaysia, MISC was the top loser, down 12 sen to RM9 while Tanjung Offshore-WA lost 11.5 sen to 88 sen. UMW and KPJ slipped seven sen each to RM6.32 and RM4.63.
Time dotcom was the most active with 23 million shares done, adding 2.5 sen to 41.5 sen.
Three-A jumped 16 sen to RM1.10 as Wilmar has proposed to take up a placement of shares which will provide the former a platform to explore business possibilities.
Green Packet rose 2.5 sen to 84.5 sen while its warrants added two sen to 39 sen.
Mamee-Double Decker rose 37 sen to RM3.45 with 411,900 shares done after proposing a bonus issue.
BAT added 20 sen to RM45 and Proton 11 sen to RM4.11 while glove maker Supermax added 13 sen to RM2.94 and Kossan 10 sen to RM4.67.
