Bursa trading platform to be enhanced

BURSA Malaysia's Bursa Trade Securities, the trading platform for the securities market, will be undergoing some enhancements on its trading phases for the morning session.

The changes, which will take effect on October 26 will see two features, the Pre-Closing and Trading-At-Last be removed from the morning session, resulting in additional 15 minutes of continuous trading.

"This improvement is made in consultation with the market participants who echoed their support in making trading experience seamless and opportunities continuous for investors," said Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Yusli Mohamed Yusoff in a statement yesterday.

The Pre-Closing phase is intended to mitigate price manipulation and is especially suited for the end of trading day.

The Trading-At-Last feature, which consists of the last 10 minutes of a trading day, will provide traders with the opportunity to trade at the closing price of a stock.
