MALAYSIAN shares are set to rise today after US stocks ended firmer on end-quarter buying and as positive news from Europe helped sentiment in US financial stocks.
“The market could go up today but I don’t see much upside given that trading volume has been very thin over the past few days,” said TA securities analyst Stephen Soo.
“There’s is a slight upside bias, but I also expect sellers to come in very soon, and the 880 points level is a very strong resistance for the benchmark index,” said Soo.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 86.90 points (1.16 per cent) to end at 7,608.92 as investors also went on “window dressing” their portfolios at the end of the first quarter Tuesday.
